Premium bio-leather from pineapple, banana, sugarcane & agricultural waste. Export-grade materials for fashion, footwear, automotive & furniture brands worldwide.
Greener Leather Co. is a Delhi-based agri-material innovation company converting agricultural by-products — pineapple leaves, banana stems, sugarcane bagasse — into high-performance, export-quality leather alternatives.
We supply B2B leather materials to fashion brands, footwear manufacturers, automotive suppliers and furniture makers — both in India and across 147 export countries.
Premium agri-based leather materials available as raw sheets, rolls or finished goods — ready for bulk B2B supply and global export.
Made from PALF (Pineapple Leaf Fibre) — a by-product of pineapple harvest. Non-woven natural fibre mat with bio-based coating. Piñatex-style construction. Ideal for bags, shoes and upholstery.
Crafted from banana pseudostem fibre and peel waste. 90% less water usage, 95% CO₂ reduction vs animal leather. Indian startup Banofi has proven this in EU/US markets. USDA BioPreferred approach.
Made from sugarcane bagasse — the fibrous residue after juice extraction. India produces 350M tonnes of bagasse annually — near-zero raw material cost. Ideal for footwear soles, automotive panels and packaging.
Our proprietary mixed agri-fibre composite. A blend of pineapple PALF, banana fibre and natural latex — engineered for maximum durability, leather-like texture and the highest bio-content. Luxury fashion grade.
Inspired by Malai Biomaterials (Kerala). Bacterial cellulose grown on coconut waste water + sisal or hemp fibre reinforcement. 100% biodegradable, breathable, PETA approved. Perfect for accessories.

A clean, traceable, zero-toxic manufacturing process — certified and export-ready.
480 leaves from 16 pineapples = 1 sq.m of leather material
Collect waste pineapple leaves from farms in Kerala, West Bengal, Assam & NE India. Leaves are agricultural by-product — zero extra land or water needed. Cost: ₹3–6 per kg.
FARM GATE SOURCINGMechanical scraping using a raspador/decorticator machine. Long PALF fibres are extracted from the leaf pulp. Fibres are washed, dried and sorted by grade.
MECHANICAL PROCESSFibres are combed, carded and blended with organic binding agent. Laid uniformly onto a backing (organic cotton/recycled PET mesh) to form a non-woven textile mat.
NO WEAVING REQUIREDNatural latex or bio-resin binder is applied. The mat is heat-pressed at controlled temperature and pressure — creating a strong, leather-like sheet without any toxic adhesives.
ZERO TOXIC ADHESIVEREACH-compliant bio-PU or natural wax coating applied for durability. Grain, pebble or matte textures embossed using heated rollers. Dyed using OEKO-TEX safe, low-impact dyes.
OEKO-TEX SAFE DYESTensile strength, tear resistance, abrasion resistance, water resistance, colorfastness — all tested to ISO standards. Thickness and width uniformity checked. Defect rate <2%.
ISO TESTEDCut to standard 1.4m width rolls or custom sheet sizes. Packed in moisture-protective wrapping. Labelled with lot number, certification info and test reports for B2B buyers.
B2B EXPORT PACKINGIndia is the world's 2nd largest banana producer — 29 million tonnes/year of waste available
Source banana pseudostem (trunk) and peel waste from plantations in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Cost: ₹2–5 per kg.
Soak pseudostem in water for natural enzymatic retting (loosens fibres). Follow with mechanical decorticator to extract long bast fibres. No caustic chemicals required.
Fibres dispersed in water slurry. Wet-laid onto mesh former to create uniform mat. Dewatered and pressed. Bio-binder (cellulose/natural latex) added at this stage.
Mat hot-pressed at 180°C — bonding fibres and creating the flat leather-like structure. Multiple passes adjust thickness and density. 90% less water than animal leather tanning.
Dye bath using natural/low-impact dyes. Apply natural wax or bio-PU topcoat for waterproofing and surface durability. Tested to EN 13536 and ISO 11644.
Full QC inspection. Roll to 1.2m wide sheets. Pack for B2B delivery with full test certificates, lot traceability and COA (Certificate of Analysis).
India produces 350M tonnes of bagasse annually — raw material is near-zero cost
Collect fresh bagasse directly from UP, Maharashtra or Karnataka sugar mills. Bagasse is a mill waste product — often available free or at negligible cost (<₹1/kg).
NaOH soak removes lignin (the brown binding component). Bleaching with H₂O₂ lightens the fibre. Wash to neutral pH. This exposes clean cellulose fibres.
Treated bagasse is mechanically pulped into a fine cellulose microfibre suspension. Concentration controlled for the sheet density required by the end application.
Pulp mixed with bio-resin binder (PLA biopolymer or natural starch-based). Wet-laid onto a forming wire. Pressed to remove water. Dried in industrial oven.
High-pressure hot pressing at 180°C / 200 bar creates the dense, stiff-flex leather sheet. Thickness and surface quality controlled at this stage. Can be made 1–3mm thick.
Surface texturing (grain emboss). REACH-compliant finish coat applied. Roll-formed to 1.4m wide standard commercial rolls for B2B supply. Full QC and dispatch.
Our premium mixed-fibre composite — best-in-class durability + bio-content
Precisely blend 60% PALF (pineapple leaf fibre) + 30% banana bast fibre + 10% sisal for structural reinforcement. Ratio optimised for durability and flexibility balance.
PROPRIETARY BLENDFirst layer: dense short fibres for leather-like surface texture. Second layer: long reinforcing fibres for tensile strength and tear resistance. Bonded together before pressing.
Certified natural latex (FSC rubber) used as primary binder — creates the supple, leather-like hand-feel that synthetic binders cannot achieve. Applied via controlled foam impregnation.
NATURAL RUBBERMulti-coat bio-PU finish applied in layers. Each layer UV-cured. Final emboss gives grain, pebble or smooth matte options. Achieves >50,000 rub cycles Martindale abrasion.
Full luxury-grade testing: tensile, elongation, tear, abrasion, flex (50k cycles), water vapour permeability, colorfastness (Grade 4+ minimum), peel strength. Luxury brand ready.
LUXURY GRADEThe global bio-leather industry is one of the fastest-growing sustainable materials sectors — driven by brand ESG mandates, EU Green Deal regulations and Gen-Z consumer demand.
Multiple independent market research firms confirm 13–20% CAGR across all agri-leather segments through 2034. Europe leads demand (39% market share) driven by strict sustainability regulations.
